![]() | TERROIRThis wine comes mainly from vineyards with soils with a pronounced loam component, which are very rich in magnesium, iron and manganese. In some vintage years, a small percentage of grapes may come from the Montosoli Cru. The vineyards are on average 300 metres above sea level. Production of about 18,500 bottles of 75cl. |
![]() | VINIFICATIE - EIGENSCHAPPENHarvesting is entirely manual. Alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel vats under controlled temperatures and daily pumping over. Maceration on the skins for 15-20 days, then 12 months aging in Slavonian oak barrels (50 hl and 25 hl), and French oak (750 litres). This Rosso di Montalcino is produced only from grapes from the youngest vineyards. Grapes from vineyards more than 10 years old are allowed to mature on oak for a few more years to produce the Brunello di Montalcino and their Riserva. The youngest vineyards have more abundant fruit and sweeter, more silky tannins, even after a year in wood: that's why they come out best in the Rosso di Montalcino. |
![]() | LEKKER BIJThis Rosso di Montalcino goes well with pasta with meat sauces, soups, roasted meat dishes, mature cheeses. |
