Bodegas Exopto was founded in 2003 by Tom Puyaubert, with the aim to recover old vineyards on the slopes of the Sierra Cantabria and Monte Yerga mountains.
“El Bozeto” or “the design” refers to the first wine project of Bodegas Exopto. It is a young fresh 'fruit bomb' that will certainly charm you.
The Rioja area located in Northern Spain along the meanders of the Ebro River is divided into 3 zones: Rioja Alta, Rioja Alavesa and Rioja Baja. The quality level has been greatly boosted in recent years by the new vinification techniques of more and more young oenologists.
• El Agudo, El Casillón, Riguela, Lodecara – Alfara : 40 to 80 years (soft ground with boulders)
• Perequita, Centenales, El Sillo, El Molino – Ábalos : 30 to 50 years (terroir of slate and clay)
Aging in concrete cuves (70%) as well as in oak barrels (20%) and 10% in previously used barrels.
Dark color. Aromas of forest fruits, pepper, liquorice and fine herbs. Lush mouth structure. Delicious impressions of plums, black chocolate and again liquorice. Nicely interwoven tannins. Elegant acidity and a smoky spicy aftertaste. Very harmonious wine.
50% Garnacha – 40% Tempranillo – 10% Graciano
Bozeto de Exopto tinto is delicious with roast chicken or grilled meat as well as fondue or paella. Recommended for Italian cuisine and spicy dishes. Also delicious with mature cheeses.
